Approx. 38 km (24 miles), 2-3 hours biking Arrive in Bangkok to meet with your small group of fellow riders and transfer out of the city to a quiet Buddhist temple where our official journey together begins. Help is available to get you fitted to your bike before we head out. Our first ride connects gentle countryside roads with farming villages and rice fields. You may have already picked up on the slow pace at which life moves here. Moreover, we begin to see roadside shrines and fruit stalls appear every few kilometers, inviting a moment of pause between each pedal stroke. Somewhere along the route, we stop for a rest and a welcome opportunity to enjoy Thailand’s most famous: stir-fried rice noodles with egg, tamarind, peanuts, and lime. Fully satisfied, we transfer to our night’s accommodation. If you would love some exploring, there’s a lovely walk down into town, where you will find the charming Rayong Aquarium right by the Ban Phe Ferry Pier. For a little token, you can explore the underwater tunnel surrounded by vibrant fish life. Otherwise, look offshore, where the views stretch to Koh Samet’s white sand beaches, with ferries constantly shuttling back and forth. Tonight we gather for our first group dinner at a local restaurant; think fresh seafood, authentic Thai flavours, and a toast to the stories that always come with an extraordinary cycling trip. |

Nestled along the pristine shores of Wang Kaew Beach, you’ll stay at Novotel Rayong. Indulge your senses at the Aquaspa, where rejuvenating treatments await, or surrender to the allure of our expansive outdoor swimming pool, a shimmering oasis set against the backdrop of the Gulf of Thailand. |

Approx. 60 km (37 miles), 3-5 hours biking Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before a short transfer to the start of today's ride. Hop on your bikes, the route we explore follows one of Thailand’s most scenic coastal routes along the Gulf of Thailand. Right from where the path starts, the road rolls gently along the shoreline, where you can expect to see fishing villages, roadside fruit stands, and cafés looking over the sea. It’s mostly relaxed riding; for this path we thread, there are also plenty of opportunities to stop for a coconut water treat or a quick hammock rest. Also, lunch is set at a seaside restaurant, and there is an opportunity to cool off with a swim in the warm Gulf waters. Come afternoon, we ride inland toward the riverside town of Chanthaburi, famous for its fruits and gemstones. This region produces some of Thailand’s best durian, mangosteen, and rambutan, and its gem market has traded rubies and sapphires with merchants from around the world for decades. |

Approx. 46 km (29 miles), 2-3 hours biking This morning is all about Chanthaburi and the fertile countryside that surrounds it. We start in the town’s historic Catholic quarter, which also houses the largest Catholic church in Thailand: the impressive Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception (Chanthaburi), a reminder of the French influence that once passed through this trading port. Then move on to a bustling morning market filled with stalls serving street food, tropical fruits, and traditional Thai tea (still impressively poured the old-fashioned way). Back on our bikes, the road continues into the lush farmlands where Thailand's best tropical fruits thrive, producing rambutan, longan, mangosteen, and the infamous durian (known as the “king of fruits). There are lots of options to try, or maybe a few if you are picky. We enjoy one last Thai lunch at a favourite spot just nearby, then it’s time for a short transfer to the Thai–Cambodian border. Bid Farewell to your expert Thai crew, then cross into Cambodia, where a team is waiting with a warm “Susadei!” The shift from here is immediately visible, with quieter roads, open countryside, and perhaps curious kids waving from oversized bikes and rice fields. Come evening, we ride into Battambang, one of the most charming provincial towns in Cambodia, known for its French Colonial architecture and slow pace of living. Once settled in your hotel, we head out for a welcome Khmer dinner in town, the perfect way to introduce the next chapter of the journey. |

The highly rated Battambang Resort is nestled in the quiet Wat Kor Village, about 4 km from the city center (free of city noise), and surrounded by lush tropical gardens and rice fields. Inside, guests are welcome to relax in its air-conditioned rooms, each with a private balcony or terrace, offering either garden views or direct views of a small lotus pond. It is all complemented with a saltwater pool and jacuzzi, an on-site restaurant, and a recreation area with a mini-golf course. |

Approx. 27 km (17 miles), 1-2 hours biking This morning, ride with the young guides of Kinyei, the nonprofit behind Soksabike, a vocational program that trains local students to become cycling guides. It’s one of the most authentic ways to explore Battambang (through the eyes of the people who grew up here). The path we follow consists of quiet dirt roads, rice fields, and stilted wooden houses, allowing us to pause and see local traditions in action. Watch as locals sun-dry bananas on bamboo racks and learn how Kralanh is made, a sticky rice mixed with coconut milk and beans, packed into bamboo and slowly roasted over charcoal. This is by far one of Cambodia’s most beloved roadside snacks, sold everywhere from village markets to highway stalls. We return to town for lunch, then drift off for one of the most unusual experiences in Battambang: the Battambang Bamboo Train. It is known locally as the norry, and was born out of necessity in the 1980’s when Cambodia’s railway system had largely stopped working. During this time, locals built lightweight bamboo platforms powered by small engines to transport rice, goods, and passengers along abandoned tracks. Today, the tradition lives on as a community-run experience, and you can glide about 4 km (2.5 miles) along the rails, experiencing the open countryside with green hills rolling past. The afternoon is yours to do as you please. Wander the relaxed streets of Battambang and admire its faded French colonial architecture. Along the way, you may stop for iced coffee at a café. Alternatively, you can take a more laid-back approach by unwinding by the hotel pool with a cold drink. |

Approx. 40 km (25 miles), 2-3 hours biking Enjoy a delightful breakfast at the hotel, then hop on your bike as we take off to one of Battambang’s most rewarding viewpoints: the Prasat Banan temple. Built in the 11th century during the Angkorian era, Prasat Banan is considered widely to be the best-preserved Khmer temple in Battambang. But more interesting, its five-tower layout is believed to have inspired the breathtaking design of Angkor Wat. Our adventure this morning leads us to the top, with over 350 stone steps to climb. At the top, sweeping views open over rice fields, palm trees, and the Sanker River Valley around Battambang. We descend afterwards from the top and onto our bikes for a quiet ride through rural roads back to our hotel in Battambang. Lunch is at the hotel, with the option to cool off in the pool afterward. In the afternoon, we depart from Battambang for an entertaining drive to Siem Reap, the gateway to the temples of Angkor. We arrive in the evening before moving out for dinner at a local restaurant. The dining scene here is refreshingly tantalizing, and you can expect classic Cambodian dishes such as fragrant Amok coconut curry or peppery beef Lok Lak. |

Your home for the night is Shinta Mani Angkor, a boutique retreat with elegant Khmer-inspired rooms featuring handcrafted wood accents, airy layouts, and balconies overlooking the gardens or the courtyard. Between the leafy courtyards and the peaceful saltwater pool, it’s an easy place to relax after a day exploring temples. And with its location in the French Quarter, Angkor’s ancient wonders are only minutes away. |

Approx. 41 km (25 miles), 2-3 hours biking Today, we ride straight into one of the largest religious monument complexes in the world, the Angkor Archaeological Park, spanning more than 400 square kilometers of forest, reservoirs, and ancient temples. The main roads offer little compared to the quiet jungle trails where we can weave between ruins and towering trees. It’s a peaceful side of Angkor that few visitors see, plus you get to ride amidst the peaceful sounds of the forest and macaques occasionally watching from the branches. Our first stop is Preah Khan, a vast 12th-century temple built by King Jayavarman VII. The complex stretches nearly 2 km (about 1 mile) from end to end and once housed thousands of monks, scholars, and officials. Today, its long corridors, crumbling stone walls, and tree-covered courtyards make it one of Angkor’s most atmospheric temples. We continue riding to Ta Som, a smaller but striking temple famous for a giant tree whose roots have wrapped themselves around the ancient gate tower (considered one of the most photographed scenes in Angkor). Lunch is set for midday at a local family home inside the park. Here, traditional Khmer dishes are served fresh, giving you a chance to experience the everyday flavors of Cambodian cooking in a quiet village setting. We cycle back through the forest in the afternoon, gleaning of the return scene as light softens over the temples and reservoirs of Angkor. Back at the hotel, you have time to relax however you choose: pool soak or a drink by the pool. Dinner tonight is at a family-run restaurant in town, where classic Cambodian dishes take center stage alongside fragrant curries, peppery stir-fries, and fresh, herb-filled salads, showcasing the bold flavors of Khmer cuisine. |

Approx. 18 km (11 miles), 1-2 hours biking Wake before dawn, Angkor Wat at sunrise is worth every extra minute of sleep you skip, as the temple's spires glow gold and pink over the jungle, far more breathtaking in person than any postcard. Following the awe-inspiring morning show, we set our sights on exploring Angkor through a quiet jungle trail, revealing the hidden corners of the park: the serene, smiling faces of Bayon Temple, the tree-entangled ruins of Ta Prohm, and other treasures. Breakfast follows next and is picnic-style, served near the ruins with the jungle as the backdrop. The ride continues to Sra Srang Reservoir, where a final lunch awaits, framed by scenery that will take your breath away. There's also some free time to wander Siem Reap’s streets one last time, following lunch. Hunt for tropical fruits like mangosteen, soak up the lively atmosphere, and savor these final moments before saying goodbye to your cycling crew and tour leader. NOTE: This itinerary is provided as an example only – prevailing conditions and local arrangements may cause variation. |

Thailand and Cambodia share a tropical monsoon climate characterised by three distinct seasons and consistently warm temperatures throughout the year. During the cool-dry season from November to February, both destinations offer comfortable conditions with average daily temperatures ranging between 20°C and 30°C, though the elevated regions of northern Thailand frequently record notably cooler nights. As the climate transitions into the hot-dry season from March through May, temperatures escalate significantly across both nations, regularly exceeding 35°C and frequently approaching 40°C during the midday peak. When the southwest monsoon introduces the wet season between May and October, the intense daytime heat subsides slightly to average highs around 32°C; however, the accompanying elevated humidity ensures the environment remains persistently warm.
Difficulty Level: Short to moderate rides, mix of flat and gentle climbs. In Thailand & Cambodia we'll pedal across a patchwork of terrain — from smooth stretches of asphalt to dusty dirt trails and a few bumpy bits where the road’s still finding its final form. We’ll mostly cycle along quiet backroads and sleepy country lanes. Over seven days, we'll cover a relaxed 167 mi (269 km) in total — with daily rides ranging from a breezy 11 mi (18 km) warm-up to a scenic 37 mi (60 km) spin. Elevation stays kind, topping out around 1,319ft (402 m), with most climbs falling firmly into the “chat-with-your-bikebuddy” category.
This tour is rated 2 out of 5.
Level 1: This tour is Riding Level 1, which means you can expect to cycle an average of 15 mi (24 km) per day — and usually no more than around 25 mi (40 km) — with plenty of breaks along the way. The pace is leisurely, and the roads are mostly flat.
Level 2: This tour is Riding Level 2, which means you can expect to cycle an average of 25 mi (40 km) per day — and usually no more than around 35 mi (56 km) — with regular snack stops and photo breaks along the way. Roads are mostly flat, with occasional short climbs.
Level 3: This tour is Riding Level 3, which means you can expect to cycle an average of 30 mi (48 km) per day — and usually no more than around 45 mi (72 km) — with occasional breaks to soak up the sights. The terrain is more varied, with some uphill climbs, so you’ll need to be generally fit if you’re on a standard bike.
Level 4: This tour is Riding Level 4, which means you can expect to cycle an average of 40 mi (64 km) per day — and usually no more than 55 mi (88 km) — with occasional breaks to recharge. Expect some longer stretches and demanding uphill climbs (up to 5000 ft (1,524 m) a day), meaning you’ll need a good level of fitness if you’re on a standard bike.
Level 5: This tour is Riding Level 5, which means you can expect to cycle at least 40 mi (64 km) per day, and sometimes up to 60 mi (97 km) in a day. Expect long stretches and more demanding uphill climbs in mountainous areas, with occasional breaks to admire the view. On a standard bike, you’ll need to be up for a challenge!
Bikes: On this tour, you’ll be riding a Cannondale Quick 1 bike or e-bikes.
Helmet: Don't worry about squeezing your helmet into your suitcase. We've got clean, disinfected helmets waiting with your bike.
Handlebar bag: To carry all your essentials.
E-Bikes: are available to boost your pedal power at and additional cost.
Adventures App: Get pre-trip tips, routes, chat support, and much more. Our app is your trusty sidekick, ensuring you're never lost (unless it's intentional).
Accommodation: Our accommodations are the ultimate havens. Beds that feel like sinking into whipped cream, spaces to chill and s-t-r-e-t-c-h out those limbs, and the promise of a dip or soak in most locations to wash away the day. In cities, expect charming 3-4 star properties. Off the beaten path, we select the best places available — cleanliness is non-negotiable, and you'll always have the comfort of air conditioning and a private bathroom.
Food: If you plan your vacations around food, then you’ll be happy to hear that we’re basically food tours on bikes (not as messy as it sounds). In Thailand, the food’s bold, fresh, and bursting with flavor. Think spicy papaya salad, pad Thai (of course), creamy coconut curries, and grilled seafood. In Cambodia, you can expect a little less heat and more subtle flavors such as fish amok steamed in banana leaves, peppery stir-fries, grilled meats on skewers, and sweet treats like sticky rice with mango. By the end, you’ll be grateful your cycling jersey is stretchy.

Cancellation by The Tour Operator
The tour operator is at the mercy of nature in all her beauty and all her fury. The tour operator will under no circumstance knowingly place at risk the health and well-being of our guests and guides. In the case of natural threats, acts of God and the like (e.g. bushfires, impassable snow, etc) the tour operator may need to cancel a tour with very little notice. In some cases, this can occur after the tour has commenced. The tour operator reserves the right to cancel any tour up to 60 days prior to departure if the minimum number requirement is unable to meet for a tour. If the tour operator needs to cancel for any reason, the cost of the tour or any other costs associated with travel to the designated pick up point, overnight accommodation, meals, etc will not be covered by the Onlyluxe Travel and therefore we strongly recommend travel insurance be taken out prior to travel.

In the case of Force Majeure Onlyluxe Travel will not accept liability, and reserves the right to change and cancel trips.
Evacuations
In rare circumstances, due to injury or unforeseen illness, the tour operator may need to evacuate you from a remote part of the walk. Helicopter evacuations are expensive and in most cases will be at a cost to the customer.
For Australian residents, under the Australian Government Medicare Act, it is prohibited for any domestic travel insurance product to provide any financial reimbursement with regard to ambulance or air ambulance services. We therefore strongly advise our customers to take specific ambulance cover through their health insurance provider. Evacuation cost will not be covered by the Onlyluxe Travel and therefore it is also strongly recommended that our customers take out travel insurance to cover (amongst other things) the costs associated with evacuation.
Travel Insurance
In view of the heavy cancellation penalties applied to cancelled reservations in certain circumstances, we strongly recommends suitable travel insurance be purchased at the time the holding deposit is paid. We recommend insurance cover that covers any loss which may be suffered due to cancellation. We also strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance against loss of baggage and medical expenses.
