Traverse button grass plains where the Cradle Mountain and Barn Bluff are stunning backdrops. Consider taking a swim in Lake Windermere. Descend to the Overland Track’s lowest point and soak in views of Mt Oakleigh on your way back up. Embark on our longest walk of the trip—the 18 km Mount Oakleigh and follow it up with another trek to Pelion Gap and then including Mount Oakleigh and Mount Ossa, the next day. Journey to Du Cane and navigate some of the oldest forests in the national park. Visit one of the area’s major waterfalls and celebrate our last evening on the track. Visit Lake St Clair, Australia’s deepest natural lake, cruise back to Cynthia Bay, and return to the Red Feather Inn where your trip ends.
