Itinerary
Flying Time: 3hours 20minutes total (3 flights) In the morning, depart Melbourne en-route to the remote and picturesque Angorichina Station in the high country of the Flinders Ranges. Experience a private tour of the station and enjoy lunch out on the beautiful lawn. After lunch, fly over Lake Torrens, one of South Australia’s giant salt lakes. Land in Coober Pedy and enjoy a private tour of the town including the stunning underground church and watch how opals are cut and polished. Finish the day with a drive out to the Breakaway Range for drinks at sunset. |
Flying Time: 1hour 15minutes (total) After breakfast fly north to Alice Spring for a private tour of the majestic West MacDonnell Ranges. This landscape inspired the late Albert Namatjira and is home to perfect white ghost gums, rusty ochre cliffs and vivid blue skies. |
Flying Time: 2hours 45minutes (total) Depart Alice Spring and head to Opium Creek Station’s airfield. Enjoy the unbounded beauty and isolation, offering all the wildlife and wetlands of the popular Kakadu National Park, minus the crowds. In the afternoon explore the surrounds, see water buffalo in the paddock or simply relax by the pool. |
Flying Time: 2hours 45minutes (total) Experience the special parts of Point Stuart and cruise the Mary River Wetlands. See the abundance of birdlife and the infamous saltwater crocodile. In the afternoon, if the tide is right, you may choose to go fishing for barramundi. For non-fishing types, the experience lends itself to an exceptional wildlife cruise. In the evening your chef is on stand-by to prepare your own fresh barramundi. |
Flying Time: 2hours (total) Leave Point Stuart after breakfast and fly to Melville Island where traditional owners welcome and escort you throughout the incredible islands, visiting local art and craft workshops along the way. See how ochres are mined from the island and enjoy morning tea and lunch with your hosts before heading to Darwin before arriving at Bullo River Station. Settle into your accommodation and take some time to relax. |
Today explore Bullo River Station, made famous by the novels of Sara Henderson. A stay here lends itself to a very genuine and personalised experience of life on an enormous cattle station with friendly hosts and comfortable accommodation. Explore the incredible Northern Territory wilderness among the 50,000 acres of Bullo River Station. Utilise the helicopter, ATV’S, boats and horses (optional) to experience the gorges, fishing spots, aboriginial rock art, ginormous boab trees and more on this iconic cattle station. |
Flying Time: 1hours 40minutes (total incl. heli-flight) Enjoy breakfast before departing Bullo River to fly across the border to the Kimberley Coastline. Enjoy the exhilarating journey to Kimberley Coastal Camp as you land at the Mitchell Plateau before boarding a helicopter for a scenic flight over the Mitchell waterfall and landing on the beach, just a short walk from the entrance. The ultra-remote tranquil lodge is positioned just behind the beach, overlooking the sparkling Timor Sea. Settle into your accommodation before setting off to explore your surroundings. |
During the next two days, you have the time at Kimberley Coastal Camp to be as active or relaxed as you like. There are boat trips, bush walks, islands to explore, fish and mud crabs to be caught, waterholes to win in, beach enjoying as well as a very well appointed ‘base camp’ where you can relax in your bungalow, by the freshwater pool or in the library. |
Flying Time: 1hours 20minutes (total) Depart the coastal camp and soar over the amazing Prince Regent River, Kings Cascade, Horizontal Waterfalls and Kimberley coastal fjords. Land in Broome during the mid morning. This afternoon choose to explore town on an included guided tour, board a seaplane and land at the Horizontal Falls (additional) or explore Cable Beach right on your doorstep. |
Fly over the Tanami to Uluru and enjoy a spectacular bird-eyes view of the giant monolith. Then take a brief flight over the Amadeus chain of salt lakes before reaching Kings Creek Station. Enjoy a night under the stars in your deluxe swag, elevated on a platform and the ‘camp’ is equipped with its very own dining room and chef so you don’t have to lift a finger. Tonight, with clear skies, you will be under a countless array of stars as you drift off to sleep. |
Flying Time: 2hours 30minutes (total) After breakfast, enjoy a private tour of the surrounding iconic landmarks of Australia’s outback including Kings Canyon with an option to take on the spectacular ‘rim-walk’ or other more leisurely strolls. After lunch, board your aircraft and fly to Parachilna where you will stay for the night at the stylish Prairie Hotel, famed for its gourmet outback inspired cuisine. |
In the morning, take a drive into the ancient Flinders Ranges and Brachina Gorge. Spot the yellow-footed wallabies and enjoy the incredible scenery before returning for a delicious lunch. Fly back to Melbourne touching down in the early evening, on the way, you will have the chance to view Wilp[ena Pound from the air. |
