Itinerary
Upon arrival at Nadi Airport (NAN), you will have access to Kokomo Private Island’s dedicated aviation hangar and luxury transfer lounge. Designed to provide a seamless experience while transferring to and from Kokomo, take the opportunity to refresh, have a shower and some food and beverage, ahead of your 45-minute helicopter or seaplane transfer. (Transfers also available from Suva). Upon arrival at Kokomo, spend the rest of the day relaxing in paradise. The epitome of privacy, luxury and space, your exclusive villa includes its own private pool, tropical walled garden, ocean view and direct beach access. Indoor and outdoor rain showers, as well as a deep soaking bathtub, complete your sanctuary, with a secluded courtyard accessible from both your sun deck and private ensuite. When you’re ready, treat yourself to a complimentary 45-minute massage or spa treatment at the Yaukuve Spa Sanctuary. Designed to connect you to the natural beauty of the island while embracing traditional Fijian nuances, Yaukuve offers a delectable menu as well as tailored treatments harnessing the luscious Sodashi skincare range. Treatments include rejuvenating facial therapies, Pacific Mastery massages, restorative Kokomo journeys, the revival of hands and tired feet, as well as hair care to ensure you leave our sanctuary feeling good, and looking incredible. Your first day culminates with an indulgent in-villa dining experience. All menus are updated daily and champion Fiji’s seasonal, fresh produce. |
Start your morning with a guided snorkel lesson off Kokomo’s West Beach. After meeting your guide at Baywatch, receive a short briefing on how to use your equipment safely. In water deep enough to stand, practice basic skills, before going on a brief snorkel. With some experience under your belt, venture out to the inner reef to discover why Fiji is known as “the soft coral capital of the world”. Departing on a glass bottom boat, you will have the opportunity to view marine life from above and below the water. Join the team on a guided snorkel, or continue to view the marine life from the comfort of the boat. Around midday, venture to one of Kokomo’s breathtaking islands for a private island picnic. Indulge in succulent fruits and tantalising pastries, paired with champagne and the finest wines from around the word. As the sun sets, dip back into the water for an unforgettable night snorkel. Observe the marine life as darkness descends, before turning on your underwater troche to light up the corals and fish below. A completely different experience to snorkelling during the day, this is a great way to observe different fish species who are active at night. |
Start your day with gentle yoga. Take a moment to sit with yourself and listen to what your body needs, as one of Kokomo’s experienced yoga instructors personally take you through the feeling of being grounded, the cultivation of awareness, intelligent alignment and mobility in the body; all from a place of strength, balance and purpose. Alternatively, head into the state-of-the-art fitness centre to build a more balanced body. Today, you will travel by boat to a hidden private oasis, before journeying inland and uphill to Kadavu, home to an abundance of magnificent flora and fauna just waiting to be explored. The walk is well-worth the adventure when you cool off with a dip in a refreshing natural waterfall. Descend to the boat feeling revived. In the late afternoon, make the most of cooler conditions and enjoy a leisurely game of tennis. If you need a partner or wish to improve your skills, arrange a lesson with Kokomo’s tennis coach. Next to the tennis court is a multi-purpose court perfect for basketball. Shoot hoops with your loved one, or challenge Kokomo’s team to join you for a friendly game. |
After morning yoga and fitness, a trip to Dravuni or Buliya village promises an authentic Fijian cultural experience. Upon arrival, you will take part in a traditional ‘sevusevu’ welcome ceremony. Share kava with the village chief, before exploring the village with a local guide. Learn about the traditional Fijian lifestyle and take the opportunity to purchase local artisan crafts. After lunch, immerse yourself in Fijian traditions and harness new skills while learning about their origins. Join Kokomo’s experiences team for an afternoon of weaving, carving, jewellery making or sarong (sulu) styling. Learn about the importance of coconut trees, the symbol of life in Fiji, or practice the basics of the Fijian language. |
After morning yoga and fitness, travel a short distance from Kokomo to discover some of the most fertile and untouched waters Fiji has to offer. Ideally positioned within close proximity to the unspoilt and thriving, Great Astrolabe Reef, Kokomo offers varied, unrivalled and world-class fishing opportunities. Spend the morning learning the secrets of Fijian handline fishing. Under the guidance of an experienced team, learn the traditional methods of fishing and listen as stories are told about the way of life in local villages. If you’re lucky, you might catch coral trout, snapper, cod and seabream among the local reefs. In the afternoon, join a member of Kokomo’s food and beverage team for a guided tour of the resort’s 5.5-acre farm. Visit the hydroponics garden and vanilla plantation and learn about the mechanisms for growing herbs, fruits and vegetables, as well as practices for taking care of the resident bees and free-range chickens. If you managed to land a fish, your guide will help you pick out the perfect accompaniments. You can even help out in the kitchen to prepare the ultimate “catch of the day”! |
Wake up with the sun on a guided kayak tour. Kokomo’s tranquil waters are home to curious sea turtles, most active in the early morning. Enjoy the beautiful corals as you paddle above Kokomo’s house reef or circumnavigate the island on a 90-minute kayak adventure. Stand-up paddle boarding is also an option for those seeking a relaxing core workout. For a fun-filled afternoon, visit Baywatch, Kokomo’s activities bure on the West Beach. Choose from an array of inflatable towable rides and the instructors will help get you out on the water. The West Beach is also a playground for waterskiing and wakeboarding enthusiasts. Whether you’re a seasoned professional or a first timer, Kokomo has everything you need to enjoy a great session on the water. Don’t forget to try the ocean trampoline! At 3:00pm, journey to the outer reef on a scheduled afternoon snorkel. Glide along the surface, marvelling at hard and soft corals, colourful parrotfish and elegant angelfish. Breathe in and dive deep, admiring the marine life up close, before returning again to the surface. Cap off a day of fun in the sun with a cruise through the tranquil waters surrounding Kokomo. As the sun begins to set, look to the horizon, savouring the changing colour palette, whilst sipping on Taittinger champagne. Return to Kokomo for dinner, having grazed on canapés. |
Your time at Kokomo culminates with morning yoga and fitness and one last gourmet breakfast. When you’re ready, say farewell to your hosts and journey back to Nadi via shared air transfer to commence your onward journey. |

Pre-Existing Medical Conditions and Age Limits
You need to advise Onlyluxe travel and the tour operator on any pre-existing medical condition, mobility impairment and/or disability that might reasonably be expected to increase the risk of your requiring medical attention, or that might affect the normal conduct of a trip and the enjoyment of other trip members. Onlyluxe Travel and the tour operator may require an assessment of your medical condition from a qualified medical practitioner. If you fail to adequately notify the tour operator of any pre-existing medical conditions and/or disability, the tour operator reserves the right, at its reasonable discretion, to cancel your participation in a trip at any time, including after the commencement of your trip, with no right of refund if your medical condition, mobility impairment and/or disability could be reasonably expected to affect the normal conduct of the trip and the enjoyment of other trip members.
Cancellation by The Tour Operator
The walks take place in very special wilderness settings. The tour operator is at the mercy of nature in all her beauty and all her fury. The tour operator will under no circumstance knowingly place at risk the health and well-being of our guests and guides. In the case of natural threats, acts of God and the like (e.g. bushfires, impassable snow, etc) the tour operator may need to cancel a walk with very little notice. In some cases, this can occur after the walk has commenced. The tour operator reserves the right to cancel any walk up to 60 days prior to departure if a minimum of 4 walkers are unable to meet for a tour. If the tour operator needs to cancel for any reason, the cost of the walk or any other costs associated with travel to the designated pick up point, overnight accommodation, meals, etc will not be covered by the Onlyluxe Travel and therefore we strongly recommend travel insurance be taken out prior to travel.
Force Majeure
'Force Majeure' means (without restriction) any event which Onlyluxe Travel or its third party providers could not, even with due care, foresee or avoid. Force Majeure covers events such as, but not limited to, adverse weather conditions, fire and all similar events beyond our control. In the case of Force Majeure Onlyluxe Travel will not accept liability, and reserves the right to change and cancel trips.
Evacuations
In rare circumstances, due to injury or unforeseen illness, the tour operator may need to evacuate you from a remote part of the walk. Helicopter evacuations are expensive and in most cases will be at a cost to the customer.
For Australian residents, under the Australian Government Medicare Act, it is prohibited for any domestic travel insurance product to provide any financial reimbursement with regard to ambulance or air ambulance services. We therefore strongly advise our customers to take specific ambulance cover through their health insurance provider. Evacuation cost will not be covered by the Onlyluxe Travel and therefore it is also strongly recommended that our customers take out travel insurance to cover (amongst other things) the costs associated with evacuation.
Travel Insurance
In view of the heavy cancellation penalties applied to cancelled reservations in certain circumstances, we strongly recommends suitable travel insurance be purchased at the time the holding deposit is paid. We recommend insurance cover that covers any loss which may be suffered due to cancellation. We also strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance against loss of baggage and medical expenses.
