Itinerary
TWO HIKING OPTIONS: Arrive in Trento on your first day for a 9:30 am meeting with your trip leaders in front of the main entrance of Trento's train station, Italy. Please arrive dressed in your hiking clothes and bring your luggage and a daypack with your rain gear and anything else you may want for today’s adventure (your luggage will be transported to our first night’s accommodation) Shortly after the meeting, we take a shuttle to Val Rendena Valley and disembark at the kickoff point of our week-long hike, which is at the foot of the Adamello-Brenta Nature Park. The park incorporates the iconic Brenta Dolomites, Adamello Glacier, and Adamello Alpine range while being Trentino's largest and most preserved area. A UNESCO recognized Geopark, the Brenta Dolomites are prominent for their rugged limestone formations, rarified stone castles featuring bells, towers, sleepy walls, and proud Spiers. These features are the main highlights for tourists who throng the Val Rendena Valley. As we embark on our maiden hike down this glorious path, forested mountains cast shadows above us while alpine pastures and wildflower meadows form the guard of honour. We gain momentum as the hike progresses, but midway, we grace the spectacular Rifugio San Giulio, a scenic refuge nestled in the heart of a river basin created by a Glacier. An oasis of serenity and calm beauty in a dramatic landscape, the refuge hut complements its idyllic ambiance with the beauty of its two alpine blue lakes. Feel free to soak in the views while your legs regain energy as they rest. We shall enjoy a delectable homemade lunch in one of the traditional ancient huts here. |

After lunch, you can retreat with the same path you trod and take a shuttle to the hotel or ascend further to close the loop before taking the shuttle for a few minutes to our hotel for the next four nights. The Lefay Dolomiti Resort and Spa is an elegant wellness retreat emplaced on a mountain in the alpine town of Pinzolo, where it overlooks the Rendena Valley amid lush greenery. Engage in leisurely pursuits this afternoon at the hotel and indulge in the irresistible offers of its internationally acclaimed spa, sauna, and hot bath to relax like a babe and sync body and soul together. The elegant outdoor pool is a good place to rev your laps game and blow off steam or hit the gym at its fitness centre. Later, we converge for a welcome reception and wine tasting tonight before helping ourselves to a luscious dinner featuring fusions of traditional recipes and contemporary gastronomy at the hotel's DOLOMIA Restaurant. |
TWO HIKING OPTIONS: A delicious hearty breakfast is our fuel for today's hike as we hop on a shuttle to a high alpine lake perched 2,000 metres (7,000 feet) above sea level. From here, the view is magical, with fascinating vistas of the Brenta and Presanella's proud peaks, jutting into the skyline as you engage one of the famed Rifugi trails. Hike around the fringes of Cornisello Lake and be gripped by its characteristic turquoise waters while treading well-marked paths, with the Brenta Dolomites group still gazing from a distance. If you are still big on momentum and up for more challenges, break the trail at the mid-point for an ascent using an out-and-back trail to the largest high country lake in Trentino, the majestic Vedretta. The lake sits at 2,603 metres above sea level, bearing its picturesque milky-blue water and fenced by tonalite rocks. Alternatively, continue your hike around the lake's foreshores, leading you to Refugio Cornisello, a scenic outdoor self-catering hut. Lunch will be served here after the assembly of everyone. Afterward, we descend through an easy path to Rifugio Lambrone, an alpine hut at the bottom of Nambrone Valley. We will indulge the irresistible refreshments here before shuttling back to Lefay Resort. Tonight, we storm the town to enjoy dinner in one of our go-to spots for the best evening fares. We return to our hotel for a sweet night's rest, anticipating the next adventure on the trip planner. |
TWO HIKING OPTIONS: Enjoy a luscious breakfast that sets you up for the day's thrilling activities. Afterward, we exit the cosy and luxurious confines of our hotel into the magnificent scenery of the Brenta Dolomites to hike in the realm of innumerable stunning views. A blissful gondola lift will take us to our trailhead, where we begin the day's business, immersing further into the Dolomites Mountain range. Here, you can choose a shorter loop out of Doss dei Sabion Mountain hut, admiring the jaw-dropping panoramic views of Val Rendena, the Adamella Group down to Presanella, and the rocky walls of Brenta Dolomites. Take the leading of a soiled but well-marked trail flanked by greenery on all fronts as you meander in and out of densely forested areas. The ambiance and path are solitary due to its remote location, which gives you the leverage to enjoy its quietness as you take a break from the hike. After the break, if you feel revitalised and pumped up for more adventure, the Twelve Apostles Huts, named after the twelve dolomite peaks beckon you for patronage. Accessing the hut is more physically demanding, but there are wire ropes and markers to aid the trek. Engage in an out-and-back hike following a rocky trail. As you tread this path, witness the natural transformation of the environment from lush meadows to jagged alpine landscapes rearing up their peaks as if in contention with other landscapes. With each ascent, the rocks become flatter until we arrive at a basin where the Rifugio XII Apostoli Hut (Twelve Apostles Huts) sits majestically. |
||
To compensate for your hard work and courage, the ascent spoils you with ravishing views of the surrounding massifs, including the green woods of Val Rendena, the Care Alto glaciers of the Adamello mountain range, and the Brenta Dolomites. A traditional hut lunch at a wayside Rifugio depends on the route you took, but we will all convene at the hotel for leisure and rest, after descending from the mountains. Enjoy the rest of the afternoon at the hotel however you please. Plunge into the pool, take a spa treatment (at own expense), immerse in a sauna, or relax at the bar or firepit before dinner at the hotel's dining room, with a meal that caps your day in sweet ending. |
TWO HIKING OPTIONS: Today, we enjoy our usual sensational breakfast that sets the pace and provides the fuel for each day's hike. Subsequently, we embark on a journey to explore the mountains and lakes of Adamello-Brenta Park. A shuttle takes us to the mountain ski resort village of Madonna di Campiglio, renowned as a tourist hotspot for skiing activities in the Italian Alps. Here, we will take one of its numerous lifts to the Five Lakes (Ritorto, Lambin, Gelato, Serodoli, and Lambino) area at 2000 metres above sea level. There are several lakes, even smaller and easier to miss, within this region, but these five steal the show for their beauty and prominent scenic spots. Home to several otherworldly lakes, this area is another charming spot for tourists who love outdoor summer and winter adventures. On arrival, we ascend a trail to Lake Ritorto, the first of the five lakes, situated at the rim of a basin. From Lake Ritorto, the largest and most beautiful of all five, move northward to complete the tour of the Five Lakes (Cinqi Laghi). Continue with the descent to a junction, where two routes lead to Lake Lambino. You can choose any part and descend to Lake Lambino to complete the loop. Alternatively, skirt the entire Five Lakes Circuit. Go back the route you came with to Ritorto, and take the lift back down to the town to visit Lake Lambino. Here, you can enjoy mouthwatering Italian cuisine in the gorgeous ambiance of Refugio Lambino, which shares a border with one of the alpine streams. If you opted to complete the circuit, enjoy your lunch pack atop the mountains and lakes before descending to Lago Lambino and back to Madonna di Campiglio. At the end of the hike, a shuttle will convey us back to the hotel regardless of your route choice. Arrive at the hotel, dive into the pool to cool off, soak in the airy ambiance from your terrace, and relax to a spa treatment (at own expense). Before bedtime, we will have a get-together where we toast to our journey so far in Trentino and enjoy the last dinner of the trip, which promises to knock your socks off. |
TWO HIKING OPTIONS: Savour the inviting views of the Dolomiti landscape from your window as you arise and shine with the sun. Soak in these lovely views properly one more time and make your last day memorable by joining your trip leaders on an early morning walk into an enchanting section of the landscape. Walk up to the SARCA River, sourced from the Adamello Springs, and watch as it flows to Lake Garda ahead. Follow the path around it to Val Genova, where the setting glows in dense greenery. The valley shares proximity with the Nardia waterfalls, another reward for your viewing pleasure when you arrive here. Retreat to the hotel for a tantalising breakfast. If you’d rather stay in this morning, rest in your room and enjoy a relaxed breakfast or perhaps last laps in the pool. Whichever choice you make today, there’ll still be time to freshen up before leaving for Verona. NOTE: This itinerary is provided as an example only – prevailing conditions and local arrangements may cause variation. |

Cancellation by The Tour Operator
The tour operator is at the mercy of nature in all her beauty and all her fury. The tour operator will under no circumstance knowingly place at risk the health and well-being of our guests and guides. In the case of natural threats, acts of God and the like (e.g. bushfires, impassable snow, etc) the tour operator may need to cancel a tour with very little notice. In some cases, this can occur after the tour has commenced. The tour operator reserves the right to cancel any tour up to 60 days prior to departure if the minimum number requirement is unable to meet for a tour. If the tour operator needs to cancel for any reason, the cost of the tour or any other costs associated with travel to the designated pick up point, overnight accommodation, meals, etc will not be covered by the Onlyluxe Travel and therefore we strongly recommend travel insurance be taken out prior to travel.
Force Majeure
'Force Majeure' means (without restriction) any event which Onlyluxe Travel or its third party providers could not, even with due care, foresee or avoid. Force Majeure covers events such as, but not limited to, adverse weather conditions, fire and all similar events beyond our control. In the case of Force Majeure Onlyluxe Travel will not accept liability, and reserves the right to change and cancel trips.
Evacuations
In rare circumstances, due to injury or unforeseen illness, the tour operator may need to evacuate you from a remote part of the walk. Helicopter evacuations are expensive and in most cases will be at a cost to the customer.
In the genuine spirit of expedition travel, we encourage exploration and adventure offering flexibility in challenging environments. This itinerary is only a guide and is subject to change due to weather, sea and other conditions beyond our control.
For Australian residents, under the Australian Government Medicare Act, it is prohibited for any domestic travel insurance product to provide any financial reimbursement with regard to ambulance or air ambulance services. We therefore strongly advise our customers to take specific ambulance cover through their health insurance provider. Evacuation cost will not be covered by the Onlyluxe Travel and therefore it is also strongly recommended that our customers take out travel insurance to cover (amongst other things) the costs associated with evacuation.
Travel Insurance
In view of the heavy cancellation penalties applied to cancelled reservations in certain circumstances, we strongly recommends suitable travel insurance be purchased at the time the holding deposit is paid. We recommend insurance cover that covers any loss which may be suffered due to cancellation. We also strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance against loss of baggage and medical expenses.
