Itinerary
Flying Time: 3 hours 20 minutes total (3 flights) Board the Outback Jet in Melbourne bound for the Outback. Land alongside the Cooper Creek and Camp 65 in time for a picnic lunch. Learn about the tragic Burke & Wills Expedition and walk around the infamous Dig Tree. After lunch, fly north across the Coognie Land arriving at the iconic town of Birdsville. A local guide will take you to Big Red, the biggest sand dune in the Simpson Desert before returing to the Birdsville Hotel for dinner at the colourful pub. |
Flying Time: 4 hours 15 minutes total (2 flights) Fly to one of the most remote areas in Australia and visit the community of Yuendumu – home to the Warlukurlangu Artists creating some of the most sought after desert dot paintings in the world. Walk among the workshop and potentially meet some of the artists. Just a stone's throw from the airstrip, settle into Bullo River Station. |
Explore the incredible Northern Territory wilderness among the 50,000 acres of Bullo River Station. Utilise the helicopter, ATV’S, boats and horses (optional) to experience the gorges, fishing spots, Aboriginal rock art, ginormous boab trees and more on this iconic cattle station. |
Flying Time: 45 minutes total (1 flight) It is time to commence your Kimberley Coastal cruising adventure! Fly in your luxury aircraft, board a helicopter and land directly on the ship's helipad stationed at Mitchell Plateau. Your crew will welcome you aboard before providing you with a light brunch. Set off for the Hunter River among the incredibly scenic waterways rich with barramundi, mud crabs and castaway island beaches. Either have a fire on the beach for sunset drinks or cruise to the historic Careening Bay. |
Visit the Mermaid Tree before cruising down through Saint Georges Basin to the mouth of the Prince Regent River and the infamous Kings Cascade. Pass by both Mount Trafalgar and Mount Waterloo and with luck, the tide will allow for fishing. If fishing is not an option, cruise straight up to Kings Cascade and explore the amazing natural gardens as well as the multitudes of freshwater pools. Later, depart for Camp Creek. |
Spend the morning fishing, crocodile spotting or simply exploring. After lunch, head to Camp Creek for a trek to the stunning waterfall and swimming hole. When you return to the boat, you will cruise to Camden Harbour where the boat will anchor for the evening. |
Explore the old settlement and history of Camden Harbour. Tide permitting we’ll gather a sumptuous feast of Kimberley rock oysters before a cruise through Kuri Bay – the first pearling settlement of the region. Try your hand hunting for reef fish before spending the afternoon cruising down the coast to the Aboriginal Dreaming site of Langii. See the mystical ‘Petrified Warriors’ or relax on the silicon beach. In the evening cruise to Doubtful Bay. |
Visit Montgomery Reef as the tide is falling and witness countless waterfalls appear in all directions. See the incredible abundance of marine life including dugongs, crocodiles and turtles which you can search for in the smaller dinghies with a crew member. Spend the next 2 days exploring waterfalls and fishing in such places as Sale River and Three Ways, whilst one evening is spent under the incredible Raft Point. |
Start the day with a scenic walk through a rainforest canopy trail to a stunning hidden rock pool for a refreshing dip. You’ll also have the opportunity to see the Horizontal Falls from the air or via tender if the tides are right. Jump back onboard and cruise toward the Buccaneer Archipelago where we stop at Crocodile Creek for a swim and barbeque lunch. In the afternoon, cruise past Cape Leveque on the way back to Broome. |
Flying Time: 1 hour 30 minutes total (1 flight) This morning farewell the MV Great Escape and board the Outback Jet to fly on to Australia’s most isolated National Parks, Karijini. Land right inside the park and have the afternoon to enjoy the region. |
Enjoy a full day with a guided exploration through the truly spectacular gorges within Karijini including Joffre Falls, a picnic lunch and an opportunity to swim in Fern Pool. |
Flying Time: 4 hours 45minutes total (1 flight) Today, fly over some of the most remote country in Australia. Stop in at Newman and Warburton where there is an opportunity to visit a local art gallery. Continue on to the tiny outpost of William Creek and land 50 metres from the hotel. |
This morning board a light aircraft for the flight within Anna Creek Station (the world’s largest at 3.8 million acres!), touch down at seldom visited Painted Desert for a guided walk and the picnic lunch. Continue to the shores of Lake Eyre North and be one of the privileged few to ever set foot here before your pilot sets course southward back to Melbourne for Departure. |
