Itinerary
You will be picked up from your hotel in Bali or airport and transfer you to Ubud by private car. This charming town, located in the centre of the island, is the artistic and cultural centre of Bali. Check in to the hotel and freshen before going to Monkey Forest for the afternoon tour. In the afternoon your guide will meet you at 4:00 pm in your accommodation, and take you to Ubud Sacred Monkey Forest. This heavily forested park features three ancient Hindu temples, beautiful jungle-covered statues and, of course, several groups of indigenous macaques. No visit to Bali would be complete without witnessing Balinese traditional dance and this evening you will be treated to a performance followed by dinner at a renowned local restaurant The Bridges (3 Course Set Menu) offering casual fine dining. After the refined dinner, you will be transferred back to your accommodation. |
2 hours river rafting, 2 hours long trekking hard to moderate (depend guest fitness level and conditioned) In the morning, you will be picked up from the hotel at 8:30 am and transferred to the rafting starting point. Upon reaching the riverbank, meet with professional rafting guides who will provide a detailed safety demonstration. Then, grab a helmet, life jacket and paddle and head to the rafts for this exhilarating Bali rafting adventure. (Note: each raft will carry four guests and one guide). Once the raft is fully afloat, start paddling. The journey will take approx. 2 hours in total with a mix of gently flowing waters and exhilarating rapids. Be sure to look around and enjoy the breathtaking scenery that surrounds the river. Pass by towering gorges and natural waterfalls. Around halfway through the journey, stop on the riverbank for a chance to swim or to simply soak up the scenery. Reach the takeout point late in the morning then transfer to a local restaurant set amid the jungle. Dry off in the changing room then tuck into a delicious Indonesian buffet lunch while enjoying the fabulous views while refuelling. Later in the afternoon, check out the final resting place of Anak Wungsu, a former Balinese king, and his wives. This 11th century tomb is surrounded by nine stone Candi sculpted out of lava rocks. Then, take an hour trek from Gunung Kawi while descending into a small valley containing the spectacular terraced rice field of Tegallalang. Gunung Kawi is a very unique temple in Bali, however to access the temple involves a significant amount of stairs. Not ideal for the walking-impaired. Wander past small villages while the guide explains the various stages of rice farming in Bali and the many local seasonal crops that form part of the Balinese countryside. At the end of trek, take a coffee or tea and a traditional cake before returning to the hotel. Dinner tonight is at local pavilion style open air café-restaurant, offering a delicious range of typical Balinese and Indonesian dishes as well as International cuisine in a casually relaxed and comfortable ambience. |
Cycling distance: approx. 2 hours, easy to moderate. The cycling can be changed to walking on request. After breakfast, you will depart at approx. 8:00 am for a full-day excursion around Bali. The first stop will be at the Royal Temple of Mengwi, which was built in 1634 to serve as the family temple of the Mengwi Dynasty. The temple is a truly stunning piece of historic architecture, surrounded by a moat with multi-roofed meru shrines and intricately carved wooden gates. Continue starting from nearby Batukaru temple (no temple visit) which is also the starting point of today's cycle ride. Embark on a two-hour E Bike ride in Jatiluwih. This is a join-in small group tour. After a short safety briefing, set off for the ride led by an experienced guide. Ride along farmers doing their daily routine and stop at Besi Kalung temple located in the middle of the Jatiluwih rice fields. Among the many fields that stretch almost all across the island, the Jatiluwih Rice Terraces in the heart of Tabanan Regency is the best example of Bali's outstanding picturesque rice fields and represent the Subak system as Bali's Cultural Landscape which has been inscribed a UNESCO's World Heritage Site in June 2012. After cycling, lunch will be served at Bamboo Forest restaurant in Jatiluwih. The restaurant is situated 900 meters above sea level on the slopes of the sacred Mount Batukaru in a tropical rainforest. Proceed to Bedugul, an area of the central highlands that is famous for its stunning beauty and three lakes. Guests visit Bedugul's traditional market where a myriad of fruits, vegetables and orchids are for sale from the area’s gardens. There are also stalls selling exotic spices and souvenirs. Then ascend north, further into the hills to reach Lake Bratan. Set on an island in the peaceful waters of the Lake Bratan, Ulun Danu Temple is one of Bali's most iconic and photogenic sites. Return to Ubud late in the afternoon. Note: - Minimum age for cycling participants is 14 years (150 cm height) |

Pre-Existing Medical Conditions and Age Limits
You need to advise Onlyluxe travel and the tour operator on any pre-existing medical condition, mobility impairment and/or disability that might reasonably be expected to increase the risk of your requiring medical attention, or that might affect the normal conduct of a trip and the enjoyment of other trip members. Onlyluxe Travel and the tour operator may require an assessment of your medical condition from a qualified medical practitioner. Cancellation by The Tour Operator
The walks take place in very special wilderness settings. The tour operator is at the mercy of nature in all her beauty and all her fury. The tour operator will under no circumstance knowingly place at risk the health and well-being of our guests and guides. In the case of natural threats, acts of God and the like (e.g. bushfires, impassable snow, etc) the tour operator may need to cancel a walk with very little notice. In some cases, this can occur after the walk has commenced. The tour operator reserves the right to cancel any walk up to 60 days prior to departure if a minimum of 4 walkers are unable to meet for a tour. If the tour operator needs to cancel for any reason, the cost of the walk or any other costs associated with travel to the designated pick up point, overnight accommodation, meals, etc will not be covered by the Onlyluxe Travel and therefore we strongly recommend travel insurance be taken out prior to travel.
Force Majeure
'Force Majeure' means (without restriction) any event which Onlyluxe Travel or its third party providers could not, even with due care, foresee or avoid. Force Majeure covers events such as, but not limited to, adverse weather conditions, fire and all similar events beyond our control. In the case of Force Majeure Onlyluxe Travel will not accept liability, and reserves the right to change and cancel trips.
Evacuations
In rare circumstances, due to injury or unforeseen illness, the tour operator may need to evacuate you from a remote part of the walk. Helicopter evacuations are expensive and in most cases will be at a cost to the customer.
For Australian residents, under the Australian Government Medicare Act, it is prohibited for any domestic travel insurance product to provide any financial reimbursement with regard to ambulance or air ambulance services. We therefore strongly advise our customers to take specific ambulance cover through their health insurance provider. Evacuation cost will not be covered by the Onlyluxe Travel and therefore it is also strongly recommended that our customers take out travel insurance to cover (amongst other things) the costs associated with evacuation.
Travel Insurance
In view of the heavy cancellation penalties applied to cancelled reservations in certain circumstances, we strongly recommends suitable travel insurance be purchased at the time the holding deposit is paid. We recommend insurance cover that covers any loss which may be suffered due to cancellation. We also strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance against loss of baggage and medical expenses.
