Itinerary
Arrive into Launceston Airport (LST) and transfer approximately 1-hour to the beautiful seaside town of Bridport, home to the legendary Barnbougle – The Dunes and Lost Farm. This afternoon, you will play 18 holes at Barnbougle Dunes, a challenging mix of voluptuous dunes, sandy waste, and rough, typical of a links course. With the sun on your back, the wind in your hair, the whiff of sea salt, and the roar of the ocean, you will be entranced by all that Mother Nature has to offer. Following the round, settle into your accommodation at either Barnbougle Dunes or The Lost Farm Lodge and make use of facilities including the Barnbougle Spa. Featuring single and couple’s treatment suites, a wellness consultation room, a steam room and mineral salt spa, the Barnbougle Spa is a place of quiet reflection. In the evening, enjoy a sumptuous 3-course dinner at the Lost Farm Restaurant with spectacular views of the course and coastline. |
After a delicious hot breakfast, it’s time to tee off! The Barnbougle Lost Farm Links Golf Course is the star attraction today. Unlike a standard course, Lost Farm features a quirky 20 holes, with the greens dispersed among the dunes and along the coastline. It will take your breath away. Following an incredible day on the dunes, journey to Launceston for your 2-night stay at The Sebel. This 4.5-star accommodation features spacious bedrooms and separate bathrooms as well as a private furnished balcony. Relax and watch the sun set on the balcony with your complimentary welcome bottle of the House of Arras, a premium Tasmanian sparkling wine. Once you have settled in, head down to Bluestone Bar & Kitchen for another decadent 3-course meal. This award-winning restaurant proudly offers a true paddock to plate experience in addition to a wide range of Tasmania’s finest wines, whiskeys, and gins. |
First stop is Christmas Hill Raspberry Farm Cafe for a delicious raspberry-themed breakfast. Located 45-minutes from Launceston, the farm café’s breakfast menu features classics such as Eggs & Bacon as well as Raspberry French Toast, Raspberry Pancakes, Raspberry Waffles and Berry Granola. You can also enjoy tasty drinks such as Raspberry Milkshakes, Smoothies and Iced Teas. The sweet treats continue at the House of Anvers Chocolate Factory. Peer through the viewing windows to see the factory in action: confectionary staff tempering, moulding and enrobing fine chocolates, truffles, pralines, fudge and more. There is also a small museum on the history of chocolate that will take you on a journey from the Aztec Indians onto Henry Nestle who first mixed chocolate with milk (in 1875) to the chocolate we know today. |

Enjoy a brief stop at the Mersey Bluff to stretch your legs and take in the fresh sea air before heading to lunch at Ghost Rock Wines. Nestled among the rolling patchwork fields of Northern Tasmania, the Ghost Rock offers a modern Tasmanian menu featuring the best local produce including salmon, beef, pork, apples, olives, cheese and more. Enjoy lunch and a wine tasting overlooking the sprawling green lawns and understand why Ghost Rock was awarded 5 Red Stars by the James Halliday Wine Companion 2021. The final destination for today is for the cheese lovers, Ashgrove Farm Cheese. Family-owned and operated, this iconic cheese factory has been producing award-winning dairy products for 25 years. Take a tour of the factory, learn their traditional techniques and modern methods of cheese making, and, of course, treat yourself to a creamy cheese, cream, butter, ice cream and freshly bottled milk.

After a delicious breakfast, journey to the quaint town of Bothwell, home to Australia’s oldest golf course: Ratho Farm. This morning you will play 18 holes including open and windswept holes, restored original holes in parkland setting, and 4 newly designed holes along the Clyde riverbank towards neighbouring Nant Distillery. Following your round, treat yourself to a beautiful Ratho Farm lunch. Then, pop into the spectacular Australasian Golf Museum to learn the story of how golf evolved from a crude game played by a handful of villages on Scotland’s east coast, to now being a truly international game, and Australia’s most popular participation sport. In the evening, settle into your accommodation at Ratho and savour a scrumptious 3-course meal. |
Enjoy a delicious breakfast in the Ratho Homestead before heading to the historic town of Ross. Arguably one of Australia’s finest 19th century villages, Ross offers an amazing opportunity to experience the beauty and drama of Tasmania’s colonial history. Walk among Australia’s oldest buildings and across Australia’s third oldest bridge. The detail of the bridge’s 186 carvings by convict stone masons was deemed of such high quality that it won the men a free pardon. |

Continue onto Josef Chromy Wines for a delightful lunch and wine tasting. Acclaimed as one of Australia’s top 10, the cellar door is housed in the original 1880s homestead. The second and final winery you will visit is Sharmans Wines. Nestled on the banks of the North Esk River, Sharmans is the oldest existing vineyard in Relbia and has a strong reputation including award winning Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Riesling and vintage sparkling. You will have the luxury of tasting a range of these wines. In the evening, return to The Sebel, Launceston, where you will once again enjoy beautiful accommodation. You will enjoy dinner at Rupert & Hound within the Seaport restaurant district. |

Famous for its dramatic coastal scenery, this challenging 18-hole championship course is a mix of voluptuous dunes, sandy waste, and rough, typical of a links course. The same blend of fescue grass extends from tee to green, and there is dramatic movement in its bumpy fairways and rolling greens.
Enjoy the par-71 design which does not require brute strength but allows you to exert power to advantage at certain points. No matter what your ability, this course lends itself well to strategy and plotting a suitable path. There is a driving range, putting green and chipping green with bunkers for you to hone your technique.
Unlike a standard course, Lost Farm features a quirky 20 holes. The greens are dispersed amongst the dunes and along the coastline. Onlyluxe Travel and the tour operator may require an assessment of your medical condition from a qualified medical practitioner. Cancellation by The Tour Operator
The walks take place in very special wilderness settings. The tour operator is at the mercy of nature in all her beauty and all her fury. The tour operator will under no circumstance knowingly place at risk the health and well-being of our guests and guides. In the case of natural threats, acts of God and the like (e.g. bushfires, impassable snow, etc) the tour operator may need to cancel a walk with very little notice. In some cases, this can occur after the walk has commenced. The tour operator reserves the right to cancel any walk up to 60 days prior to departure if a minimum of 4 walkers are unable to meet for a tour. If the tour operator needs to cancel for any reason, the cost of the walk or any other costs associated with travel to the designated pick up point, overnight accommodation, meals, etc will not be covered by the Onlyluxe Travel and therefore we strongly recommend travel insurance be taken out prior to travel.
Force Majeure
'Force Majeure' means (without restriction) any event which Onlyluxe Travel or its third party providers could not, even with due care, foresee or avoid. Force Majeure covers events such as, but not limited to, adverse weather conditions, fire and all similar events beyond our control. In the case of Force Majeure Onlyluxe Travel will not accept liability, and reserves the right to change and cancel trips.
Evacuations
In rare circumstances, due to injury or unforeseen illness, the tour operator may need to evacuate you from a remote part of the walk. Helicopter evacuations are expensive and in most cases will be at a cost to the customer.
For Australian residents, under the Australian Government Medicare Act, it is prohibited for any domestic travel insurance product to provide any financial reimbursement with regard to ambulance or air ambulance services. We therefore strongly advise our customers to take specific ambulance cover through their health insurance provider. Evacuation cost will not be covered by the Onlyluxe Travel and therefore it is also strongly recommended that our customers take out travel insurance to cover (amongst other things) the costs associated with evacuation.
Travel Insurance
In view of the heavy cancellation penalties applied to cancelled reservations in certain circumstances, we strongly recommends suitable travel insurance be purchased at the time the holding deposit is paid. We recommend insurance cover that covers any loss which may be suffered due to cancellation. We also strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance against loss of baggage and medical expenses.
