Itinerary
Flying Time: 1hour In the morning, depart Darwin and fly over the East Alligator River into Arnhem Land. Touch down at the Borradaile airfield before being taken into camp for a welcome orientation. Enjoy the numerous activities over the two days here, set amidst some of Arnhem Land’s most stunning scenery. In the afternoon take a tour around the area where you will follow dry season roads by boat! This will give you an idea of the sheer volume of water that the Wet produces. |
Mount Borradaile’s 700km² lease is renowned for its abundance of high quality cave paintings with fine examples from the Freshwater, Contact and Estuarine periods, including the majestic Rainbow Serpent – one of the most potent symbols of aboriginal spirituality. Expert commentary will explain why Borradaile is such a significant place. Afterwards, lunch is served with a view, and more exploration to follow. |
Flying Time: 2hours 30minutes After breakfast, depart for an aerial exploration of Kakadu including the Jim Jim and Twin Falls. Later you will arrive at Bullo River Station for a late lunch and exploration of the station located on the estuarine Bullo River. |
Today explore Bullo River Station, made famous by the novels of Sara Henderson. A stay here lends itself to a very genuine and personalised experience of life on an enormous cattle station with friendly hosts and comfortable accommodation. Explore the incredible Northern Territory wilderness among the 50,000 acres of Bullo River Station. Utilise the helicopter, ATV’S, boats and horses (optional) to experience the gorges, fishing spots, aboriginal rock art, ginormous boab trees and more on this iconic cattle station. This time of year is great for barramundi fishing and your chef will prepare a barra delight. |
Flying Time: 3hours Spend the morning with your wonderful hosts on the station. After lunch, board your aircraft and track the Wyndham and Five Rivers Lookout. Continue to the mighty King George Falls on the Kimberley coastline. Land back in Kununurra in time for your connecting commercial flight back to Darwin. |
