Leave Darwin for a 1-hour drive to the world-class Litchfield National Park surrounded by thick pockets of tropical rainforest. The initial destination of the day takes us to the Adelaide River, where you’ll will venture on a 1-hour crocodile cruise along the waterway. This region, which encompasses the traditional lands of the Limilngan-Wulna people, a group actively engaged in the reserve's upkeep, stands out as one of the most breathtaking locations for discovering the diverse wildlife of the Top End. It serves as the habitat for a wide array of bird species, turtles, water pythons, and notably, the iconic Saltwater Crocodile.

Later, explore the remarkable monolithic Magnetic Termite Mounds, followed by a chance to unwind in one of Litchfield's exquisite natural plunge pools, such as Buley Rockholes or Wangi Falls. Explore the cascading waterfall like Florence Falls or Tolmer Falls, and be astounded by the exquisite beauty etched into the rocky escarpment. Embark on a remarkable day tour into Arnhem Land and Northern Kakadu, focused on Aboriginal culture and heritage, led by an expert guide. A unique experience, this tour is under the ownership and stewardship of the traditional custodians of the clan estates you will explore.

Travel in comfort within spacious 4WD buses, featuring front-facing seats, and behold the renowned landscapes of the region. Cross Cahill’s Crossing over the East Alligator River and venture into Arnhem Land. You will enjoy exclusive access to country and sites specialising in Aboriginal cultural an d nature based cruises, tours & wilderness lodge accommodation in this World Heritage Area. Guests travel in small groups by comfortable 4WD vehicles & boats, escorted by expert guides, predominantly Aboriginal, ensuring a unique cultural experience.

Day 1: Enjoy a gourmet breakfast at your Kakadu hotel. Morning at leisure or self explore Ubirr. Ubirr’s rock art is considered among the best in the world, with fine examples of x-ray painting as well as contact art from the time when Indigenous people first encountered Europeans. A 1 km circular track takes you past the rock art sites before a steep 250 m climb to a rocky lookout with 360-degree views of Arnhem Land and the Nadab floodplain. Then self drive to the Border Store and arrive at 2:30pm to meet the staff for your Arnhem Land Hawk Dreaming Immersion 2 Night excursion. Park your vehicle in the compound and get your luggage ready for the Hawk Dreaming Lodge transfer vehicle at 3:00pm. After arriving at the lodge and getting acquainted with the facilities you’ll be treated to a sunset tour taking in nearby rock art sites and nibbles by the Cannon Hill billabong or rock art sites before returning to the Lodge for dinner.

Day 2: Breakfast will be served between 7am and 8am before you are connected with the Arnhemlander Cultural and Heritage 4WD day Tour. With a knowledgeable guide you’ll experience vast flood plains, towering escarpment, rock art sites, Indigenous artist at work at Injalak Arts Centre, lunch in a scenic location & Inkiyu Billabong. Your camp hosts will collect you from the Arnhemlander tour and transfer you back to the camp. You will again have the opportunity to do another sunset tour around the camp visiting different sites from the previous evening before heading back to the Lodge for dinner.

Day 3: (connect to Day 6 itinerary to Nitmiluk National Park below): Breakfast will be served between 7am and 8am before you are transferred back to the Border Store to collect your vehicle. Self drive to join the Guluyambi Cultural Cruise at 9:00am on the East Alligator River. The cruise duration is 1 hour and 45 minutes. After the cruise enjoy a scenic self-drive towards the iconic Nitmiluk National Park to your home for the night at the award-winning Cicada Lodge, located in the township of Katherine.

Includes: 2 night’s accommodation dinner bed and breakfast at Hawk Dreaming Wilderness Lodge, Two sunset tours with nibbles near the Lodge, Arnhemlander 4WD Day Tour, Arnhem Land permits, and Guluyambi Cultural Cruise. The Hawk Dreaming Wilderness Lodge has 12 ensuited safari tents. The Lodge is situated in an otherwise restricted region of the Park that is justifiably renowned for its landscapes.

Come late afternoon, make your way to Nitmiluk National Park for your breathtaking Nabilil Dreaming sunset cruise. Experience the blend of sightseeing with an unforeseen touch of opulence in the distant backdrop of Nitmiluk Gorge.

Embark on your journey by traversing the initial two gorges, which includes a 400-meter stroll enabling you to witness an Ancient Jawoyn Rock Art site, dating back 8,000 to 10,000 years! During this voyage, immerse yourself in cultural narratives, the history of the Nitmiluk region, insights into the local flora and fauna, and a wealth of additional knowledge.

Upon your return to the first gorge, your Dinner Vessel awaits. While our expert onboard chefs craft your delectable 3-course meal, take a moment to recline and unwind, soaking in the ever-shifting hues of ochre on the escarpment walls as the sun gracefully sets.
