(Transfers also available from Suva). Upon arrival at Kokomo, spend the rest of the day relaxing in paradise. Indoor and outdoor rain showers, as well as a deep soaking bathtub, complete your sanctuary, with a secluded courtyard accessible from both your sun deck and private ensuite. |

When you’re ready, treat yourself to a complimentary 45-minute massage or spa treatment at the Yaukuve Spa Sanctuary. Designed to connect you to the natural beauty of the island while embracing traditional Fijian nuances, Yaukuve offers a delectable menu as well as tailored treatments harnessing the luscious Sodashi skincare range. Treatments include rejuvenating facial therapies, Pacific Mastery massages, restorative Kokomo journeys, the revival of hands and tired feet, as well as hair care to ensure you leave our sanctuary feeling good, and looking incredible. Your first day culminates with an indulgent in-villa dining experience. All menus are updated daily and champion Fiji’s seasonal, fresh produce. |
Start your morning with a guided snorkel lesson off Kokomo’s West Beach. After meeting your guide at Baywatch, receive a short briefing on how to use your equipment safely. In water deep enough to stand, practice basic skills, before going on a brief snorkel. With some experience under your belt, venture out to the inner reef to discover why Fiji is known as “the soft coral capital of the world”. Departing on a glass bottom boat, you will have the opportunity to view marine life from above and below the water. Join the team on a guided snorkel, or continue to view the marine life from the comfort of the boat. Around midday, venture to one of Kokomo’s breathtaking islands for a private island picnic. Indulge in succulent fruits and tantalising pastries, paired with champagne and the finest wines from around the word. As the sun sets, dip back into the water for an unforgettable night snorkel. Observe the marine life as darkness descends, before turning on your underwater troche to light up the corals and fish below. A completely different experience to snorkelling during the day, this is a great way to observe different fish species who are active at night. |
A trip to Dravuni or Buliya village promises an authentic Fijian cultural experience. Upon arrival, you will take part in a traditional ‘sevusevu’ welcome ceremony. Share kava with the village chief, before exploring the village with a local guide. Learn about the traditional Fijian lifestyle and take the opportunity to purchase local artisan crafts. In the afternoon, join a member of Kokomo’s food and beverage team for a guided tour of the resort’s 5.5-acre farm. Visit the hydroponics garden and vanilla plantation and learn about the mechanisms for growing herbs, fruits and vegetables, as well as practices for taking care of the resident bees and free-range chickens. You might also like to try your hand at Fijian handline fishing. If you’re lucky, you might catch coral trout, snapper, cod and seabream among the local reefs. |
Say farewell to Kokomo and journey north to Taveuni Island via Nadi. Please note that flights from Nadi to Taveuni are not included – you must book your own. Upon arrival at Matei Airport (TVU), you will be greeted by a Raiwasa Private Resort representative, who will help you the rest of the way to your accommodation. Upon arrival at Raiwasa, spend the rest of the day relaxing in paradise. Catering to a maximum of just 6 guests, Raiwasa offers the privacy and understated luxury of a world-class retreat. Settle into your exquisitely decorated suite before heading outside to the 3-sided infinity pool, ideally situated to give stunning views of the deep blue and green ocean waters. When you’re ready, a series of steps takes you down to the private beach, where you can take advantage of complimentary kayaks and paddleboards. Venture around the tip of Matei or to several bommies a few hundred metres from shore. Alternatively, strap on a snorkel or scuba tank and discover a whole new underwater world. Known as the “soft coral capital of the world”, each of Taveuni’s dive sites delivers a unique experience of multicoloured reefs and stunning marine life. Choose from Rainbow Reef, The Great White Wall, Annie’s Bommie, The Ledge, Yellow Grotto, The Purple Wall and The Fish Factory and get up close to manta rays, barracudas, white tip sharks, sea turtles and more! |
||
Back on dry land, take a guided tour through the private 3-acre retreat, with its collection of rare palm trees, and banana, papaya, pineapple, orange and lemon trees. Then, let the onsite chef tantalise your taste buds with gourmet meals personalised to suit your mood of the day – cuisine influenced by the diverse cultures of the Pacific Rim, especially Fiji itself. Choose from 8 dining areas and savour locally caught island fish and spices from the nearby rainforest. Before retiring for the evening, take time to admire the spectacular night sky. The purpose-built stargazing recliners will open up a whole new world of celestial beauty. |
Strap on a snorkel to discover a whole new underwater world around Taveuni Island. You can journey 20-minutes to Rainbow Reef, Fiji’s most pristine and colourful reef, to explore the Great White Wall, Cabbage Patch and Fish Factory. The reef’s location in the Somosomo Strait, the narrow channel separating Taveuni and Vanua Levu, sees water funneling through at every tide, providing nutrients and food to an unparalleled variety of marine life. Conditions like these are rare! In the afternoon, head down to Raiwasa’s private beach, where you can take advantage of complimentary kayaks and paddleboards. Venture around the tip of Matei or to several bommies a few hundred metres from shore. Alternatively, try your hand at fishing or explore the island on foot or by bike. |
Set out on a full-day, guided trek through Bouma National Heritage Park, which accounts for approximately 80% of Taveuni Island. The park includes the three Tavoro Waterfalls, each with natural swimming pools. Beginning in Vidawa Village, venture deep into the Vidawa Rainforest, one of Fiji’s most beautiful rainforests. Visit a historic, fortified village site, take in stunning views over the coast and outer islands, and learn about the traditional uses of native animals and plants. This hike is a dream for birdwatchers, with the opportunity to spot many rare and colourful species including Lady Monarchs, Blue-Crowned Broad Bills, Silktails, and the legendary Orange Dove, of which no known photographs exist. Your journey culminates with a leisurely swim at the waterfalls. After the trek, let one of Raiwasa’s highly skilled masseuses soothe away your aching limbs. Massages and treatments include Island Relaxation Massage, Hot Stone Massage, Tropical Sugar Scrub and Dilo (banana leaf) wrap. |
Spend your last morning doing as much or as little as you like. You could head out for a spot of snorkelling or an easy bike ride, or you could sleep in ahead of a leisurely breakfast. When you’re ready, check out and enjoy a complimentary transfer to Matei Airport to commence your onward journey. NOTE: This itinerary is provided as an example only – prevailing conditions and local arrangements may cause variation. |

In the event that we are forced to change your arrangements, substitute arrangements of a similar standard will be provided. Pre-Existing Medical Conditions and Age Limits
You need to advise Onlyluxe travel and the tour operator on any pre-existing medical condition, mobility impairment and/or disability that might reasonably be expected to increase the risk of your requiring medical attention, or that might affect the normal conduct of a trip and the enjoyment of other trip members. Onlyluxe Travel and the tour operator may require an assessment of your medical condition from a qualified medical practitioner. If you fail to adequately notify the tour operator of any pre-existing medical conditions and/or disability, the tour operator reserves the right, at its reasonable discretion, to cancel your participation in a trip at any time, including after the commencement of your trip, with no right of refund if your medical condition, mobility impairment and/or disability could be reasonably expected to affect the normal conduct of the trip and the enjoyment of other trip members.
Cancellation by The Tour Operator
The walks take place in very special wilderness settings. The tour operator is at the mercy of nature in all her beauty and all her fury. The tour operator will under no circumstance knowingly place at risk the health and well-being of our guests and guides. In the case of natural threats, acts of God and the like (e.g. bushfires, impassable snow, etc) the tour operator may need to cancel a walk with very little notice. In some cases, this can occur after the walk has commenced. The tour operator reserves the right to cancel any walk up to 60 days prior to departure if a minimum of 4 walkers are unable to meet for a tour. If the tour operator needs to cancel for any reason, the cost of the walk or any other costs associated with travel to the designated pick up point, overnight accommodation, meals, etc will not be covered by the Onlyluxe Travel and therefore we strongly recommend travel insurance be taken out prior to travel.
Force Majeure
'Force Majeure' means (without restriction) any event which Onlyluxe Travel or its third party providers could not, even with due care, foresee or avoid. Force Majeure covers events such as, but not limited to, adverse weather conditions, fire and all similar events beyond our control. In the case of Force Majeure Onlyluxe Travel will not accept liability, and reserves the right to change and cancel trips.
Evacuations
In rare circumstances, due to injury or unforeseen illness, the tour operator may need to evacuate you from a remote part of the walk. Helicopter evacuations are expensive and in most cases will be at a cost to the customer.
For Australian residents, under the Australian Government Medicare Act, it is prohibited for any domestic travel insurance product to provide any financial reimbursement with regard to ambulance or air ambulance services. We therefore strongly advise our customers to take specific ambulance cover through their health insurance provider. Evacuation cost will not be covered by the Onlyluxe Travel and therefore it is also strongly recommended that our customers take out travel insurance to cover (amongst other things) the costs associated with evacuation.
Travel Insurance
In view of the heavy cancellation penalties applied to cancelled reservations in certain circumstances, we strongly recommends suitable travel insurance be purchased at the time the holding deposit is paid. We recommend insurance cover that covers any loss which may be suffered due to cancellation. We also strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance against loss of baggage and medical expenses.
