Upon arrival in Albany, check into the region’s premier guest house, The Beach House at Bayside, your home away from home for the next 3 nights. After experiencing the wonderful care and service of the Beach House, you will understand why this award-winning team recently joined the Australian Tourism Awards Hall of Fame. Settle into your stylish and purpose-built room. Dinner is guest's own arrangement |
Bald Head Walk: 12.5km/8mi | 6.5hr | Grade 4: Bushwalking experience recommended. Tracks may be long, rough and very steep. Directional signage may be limited. Terrain is steep and difficult in sections. Do not attempt to return via the beaches due to unseen hazards. After a continental and cooked a la carte breakfast in the dining room, meet your Walk Into Luxury host at 8:00am in reception for an exciting day at Torndirrup National Park. This wild and rugged coastal park is known for its spectacular wave-carved features including the Natural Bridge, The Gap and the Blowholes. Today, you will be walking the 12.5-kilometre (8mi) Bald Head Walk, voted one of the best day walks in Australia. The trail climbs and descends along the narrow ridge line of the Flinders Peninsula, a granite formation that juts out from the landscape into the sprawling Southern Ocean. Along with spectacular views of the granite cliffs, the views back to Albany and King George Sound are simply breathtaking. Enjoy a picnic lunch overlooking some of the most scenic coastline in Western Australia. After your walk, travel to a nearby section of the long distance Bibbulmun Track, one of the world’s great long distance walk trails, stretching 1000-kilometres from Kalamunda in the Perth Hills to Albany on the south coast. After a short stroll to take in the clifftop track and towering windmills. In the evening, return to The Beach House where you may dine in your room, or venture out into town (own arrangement). |
After another continental and cooked a la carte breakfast in the dining room, transfer to William Bay National Park, known for its turquoise green waters, white sandy beaches and towering granite rocks. This morning, you will be taking in the highlights of William Bay on short walks to Greens Pool, Elephant Rocks and to the rock formations lining the top of Tower Hill (part of the Bibbulmun Track). From the top, enjoy magnificent views over the National Park and Denmark coastline. Pack your swimmers if you would like to take a dip in Greens Pool. Almost completely sheltered from the waves of the Great Southern Ocean by the rounded rock boulders typical to the area, Greens Pool is rightfully recognised as one of Australia’s best beaches. Next, continue with your guide by vehicle to The Valley of the Giants Tree-top Walk (20-minute drive). This internationally recognised walk gives you a bird’s eye view of some of the biggest timber giants on Earth – Western Australia’s majestic tingle trees. Climbing 40-metres (130ft) into the forest canopy and meandering through the treetops for 600-metres (1970ft), the walk is the first of its kind, designed to maximise views and minimise impact. Time permitting, you will also stop at Conspicuous Cliffs on your way to lunch to admire the spectacular limestone cliffs and large surf that pounds against the shore of this pristine beach. |

The rest of the trail takes you along white sandy beaches, sand dunes and clifftops. Your destination – Yallingup – is splendidly nestled on a ridge, surrounded by the Leeuwin-Naturaliste National Park with spectacular views out to the Indian Ocean. Stretching 123-kilometres from Cape Naturaliste to Cape Leeuwin, the Cape to Cape boasts spectacular coastal and forest scenery, a fascinating geology of cliffs, caves, headlands and rock formations and an ever-changing display of vegetation and wildflowers. Today’s walk will take you 16-kilometres (9.9mi) from Smiths Beach to Moses Rock. This stretch of the coast has it all: pristine turquoise bays and white sand beaches, limestone caves and jaw-dropping clifftop ocean views, and the giant Karri trees of the Boranup forest. Highlights of this walk include views of Contos Beach from the clifftops above, and the evolving landscape as the trail veers inland from the coast into the forest. After your walk, pick up where you left off yesterday with more leisure time at Smiths Beach Resort. Dinner tonight is guest's own arrangement. |
Walking Distance: Augusta Climops to Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse: 11km/6.8mi | 4hrs Cap off your Cape to Cape crusade with a beautiful 4 hour walk from Augusta Cliffs to Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse. More Info
The start and finish point for this tour is Perth, Western Australia.
Perth Airport (PER) is served by over 30 scheduled airlines flying to over 50 destinations in Australia, Oceania, Asia, Africa and Europe.
Western Australia’s wild south coast is more temperate than the rest of the state. This region features a Mediterranean climate with cool wet winters and warm dry summer months. The hottest months are between December and March, but the warm conditions can last from October to May in Perth, Albany and the Margaret River.
The Cape to Cape Walk operates in March to June and September to November to give you the best chance of hiking in good conditions avoiding the peak holiday and bush fire season. If you like calm, fine days with light winds, consider hiking the Cape to Cape in Autumn or early June, which is generally less windy than Spring. If you want to enjoy whale watching from the clifftops as you walk, or to see the wildflowers that carpet the track in mid-late Spring, then September, October and November are the best months for you.

Pre-Existing Medical Conditions and Age Limits
You need to advise Onlyluxe travel and the tour operator on any pre-existing medical condition, mobility impairment and/or disability that might reasonably be expected to increase the risk of your requiring medical attention, or that might affect the normal conduct of a trip and the enjoyment of other trip members. Onlyluxe Travel and the tour operator may require an assessment of your medical condition from a qualified medical practitioner. If you fail to adequately notify the tour operator of any pre-existing medical conditions and/or disability, the tour operator reserves the right, at its reasonable discretion, to cancel your participation in a trip at any time, including after the commencement of your trip, with no right of refund if your medical condition, mobility impairment and/or disability could be reasonably expected to affect the normal conduct of the trip and the enjoyment of other trip members.
Cancellation by The Tour Operator
The walks take place in very special wilderness settings. The tour operator is at the mercy of nature in all her beauty and all her fury. The tour operator will under no circumstance knowingly place at risk the health and well-being of our guests and guides. In the case of natural threats, acts of God and the like (e.g. bushfires, impassable snow, etc) the tour operator may need to cancel a walk with very little notice. In some cases, this can occur after the walk has commenced. The tour operator reserves the right to cancel any walk up to 60 days prior to departure if a minimum of 4 walkers are unable to meet for a tour. If the tour operator needs to cancel for any reason, the cost of the walk or any other costs associated with travel to the designated pick up point, overnight accommodation, meals, etc will not be covered by the Onlyluxe Travel and therefore we strongly recommend travel insurance be taken out prior to travel.
Force Majeure
'Force Majeure' means (without restriction) any event which Onlyluxe Travel or its third party providers could not, even with due care, foresee or avoid. Force Majeure covers events such as, but not limited to, adverse weather conditions, fire and all similar events beyond our control. In the case of Force Majeure Onlyluxe Travel will not accept liability, and reserves the right to change and cancel trips.
Evacuations
In rare circumstances, due to injury or unforeseen illness, the tour operator may need to evacuate you from a remote part of the walk. Helicopter evacuations are expensive and in most cases will be at a cost to the customer.
For Australian residents, under the Australian Government Medicare Act, it is prohibited for any domestic travel insurance product to provide any financial reimbursement with regard to ambulance or air ambulance services. We therefore strongly advise our customers to take specific ambulance cover through their health insurance provider. Evacuation cost will not be covered by the Onlyluxe Travel and therefore it is also strongly recommended that our customers take out travel insurance to cover (amongst other things) the costs associated with evacuation.
Travel Insurance
In view of the heavy cancellation penalties applied to cancelled reservations in certain circumstances, we strongly recommends suitable travel insurance be purchased at the time the holding deposit is paid. We recommend insurance cover that covers any loss which may be suffered due to cancellation. We also strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance against loss of baggage and medical expenses.
