Itinerary
Approx. 13km (8 miles), 4 hours walking. Max. Altitude: 392m./1286 ft. Elevation gain: 386 m. / 1,266 ft. Get ready for a truly incredible adventure as you are whisked away to the world-renowned Torres del Paine National Park. Start your journey from your hotel in Puerto Natales (other pickup from Punta Arenas and El Calafate can be arranged on request. Scheduled shared service or private transfers can be arranged at an additional cost). This lively, picturesque town is situated on the shores of Last Hope Sound, also known as Ultima Esperanza. Here, you indulge in a hearty, locally sourced lunch before continuing onto the park. Drive to EcoCamp Patagonia, located in the world-renowned Torres del Paine National Park. Upon arrival, we'll settle in for lunch and some relaxation time. During this period, your guide will go over the details of what promises to be an unforgettable adventure. In the afternoon, we'll begin our hike to Camp Serón, where we'll spend our first night. With sunset not occurring until around 11 PM, you'll have plenty of light to take in the stunning views of the Patagonian steppe, complete with its roaming guanacos and the majestic backdrop of snow-capped mountains. This incredible first day sets the tone for an adventure of a lifetime. |
Approx. 18.7km (20.5 miles), 6 hours walking. Max. Altitude: 382 m./ 1,255 ft. Elevation gain: 622 m. / 2040 ft. Get ready to start your day with a thrilling adventure! Beginning at the incredible Camp Serón, you set out on an unforgettable hike towards Dickson Lake. The trail will lead you northwards along the eastern bank of the Paine River, where you stop at a natural lookout to soak in the stunning panoramic view of Paine Lake. Westward towards Refugio Dickson lies the next leg of the trek, which involves traveling across wide grasslands. Your camp will be set in the picturesque Dickson Valley, where snow-capped mountains rise up all around you and Lake Dickson glistens in the sunlight. |

Approx. 12.9km (8.1 miles), 5 hours walking. Max. Altitude: 584 m./1916 ft. Elevation gain: 373 m. / 1224 ft. Brace yourselves as we embark on a journey that will lead us along the Los Perros River through some of the most inaccessible and wild terrain that we will encounter on this epic journey. We encounter the mystical Los Perros Glacier, marvelling at its magnificence as it merges into a small lake. The journey continues through unspoiled beech forests until it reaches the breathtaking Laguna Los Perros, where Camping Los Perros is waiting to welcome us for a calm and tranquil evening. |
Approx. 17.3km (10.7 miles), 12 hours walking. Max. Altitude: 1364 m./4475 ft. Elevation gain: 984 m. / 3228 ft. As we make our way toward the peak of the John Gardner pass, our adrenaline spikes with eager anticipation for the breathtaking views that await us at 1300 meters (4,000 feet) above sea level. There, we will be greeted by the mesmerizing sight of the Grey Glacier, a fractured marvel of ice that towers over the valley below. The summit of Torres del Paine is a must-see for any brave traveler, and as we gather our breath and take in the beauty of the landscape, we can't help but feel like true adventurers. We hike further south along wooded slopes, stopping periodically to take in the Grey Glacier from a variety of angles. At long last, we reach the serene Grey Campground, where we can bask in the warmth of a once-in-a-lifetime adventure. |
Approx. 11km (7 miles), 5 hours walking. Max. Altitude: 302 m./990 ft. Elevation gain: 243 m. / 797 ft. As the morning dawns, get ready to embark on a journey of mesmerising natural beauty. We start with some well-deserved relaxation and rejuvenation time amidst the breathtaking views of Lake Grey. Come 9:00am, venture on a 2.5 hours kayak adventure around Glacier Grey. Get up close around huge floating icebergs towards the eastern side of the glacier. Please note: this activity is only available between 1st November and 19th March. We will continue our journey along the eastern side of the lake, which takes us past some breathtaking clearings filled with Calafate bushes. As you gaze at the majestic giant icebergs slowly drifting across the crystal-clear waters, you'll be truly spellbound by the awe-inspiring sight. As we move forward, the path begins to level off, leading us through a shallow dry valley, bringing us closer to the emerald waters of Lake Pehoe. We will spend the night here, encircled by the calm of nature's finished creation, a great backdrop for our tents. Get ready for an experience that will live long in your memory and fill you with awe as you witness some of the most breathtaking natural wonders in the world. *Optional Kayaking around Glacier Grey: This excursion starts at 8:30 AM and lasts 2.5 hours. You will kayak around huge floating icebergs towards the eastern side of the glacier to get closer to the giant ice wall. Minimum: 3 passengers. Maximum: 12 passengers. Min. age is 15 years old / Max. age is 65 years old. Includes: Neoprene suit, waterproof jacket and boots, poogies (kayak gloves), skirt and life jacket. Approx. 20km (12.4 miles), 8 hours walking including Británico Lookout. Max. Altitude: 800 m./2624 ft. Elevation gain: 753 m. / 2470 ft. After a scrumptious breakfast at Lake Pehoe, we set out on an arduous journey up a winding path, taking us to the centre of the Paine Massif. The rhythm of our group will dictate the pace, so we can choose to go at a leisurely pace or pick up the tempo if we're in the mood for some excitement. As we forge ahead, we'll soon come across the stunning hanging bridge over the French River, offering us panoramic views of the breathtaking valley below. From there, we continue our ascent towards the upper section of the valley, where we are awestruck by the vast geological formations that stretch before us, from Hoja (Blade) and Máscara (Mask) to Espada (Sword), Catedral (Cathedral), Aleta de Tiburón (Shark's Fin), and the awe-inspiring Fortaleza (Fortress). Following the completion of this exhilarating hike, we take a break, relax, and indulge in a delectable picnic. Afterwards, we make our way down over a gorgeous landscape of mixed grassland and light forest until we reach Camp Los Cuernos, which will mark the end of a great day full of breathtaking views and amazing memories. Following a hearty breakfast, we embark on a journey of a lifetime to reach Camp Torre Central via the Cuernos route. As we make our way across the breathtaking landscape that encompasses Lake Nordenskjold, be astounded by the varied topography that we will traverse. Be sure to keep your eyes out for the park's endearing plant and animal life. Along the way, we will make a pit stop to take in the splendour of our surroundings, stretch our legs, and indulge in a delectable box lunch. Finally, we arrive at Las Torres Camp, be prepare to be amazed by the stunning scenery that lies ahead. Nestled deep within the National Park, the camp boasts an unrivalled view of the awe-inspiring Torres. And with the summer months bringing extended daylight, you will have plenty of time to appreciate the untouched beauty of the Patagonian steppe. Approx. 22km (13.6 miles), 10 hours walking. Max. Altitude: 914 m./3000 ft. Elevation gain: 796 m. / 2611 ft. Get ready for the ultimate challenge on the penultimate day of the Paine Circuit! This is the day we traverse the most famous trekking trail in Torres del Paine National Park. We start off by walking from our campsite towards Hostería Las Torres before ascending up Ascencio Valley. Along the way, we will be greeted by breathtaking mountain ridges, lush beech forests and small rivers that make for an incredible scenic walk. But the real challenge comes in the form of the steep moraine, a massive collection of boulders that will lead us to that unbeatable base-view of the Towers. These three gigantic granite monoliths are the last remnants of a once-great cirque that was edged away by glacial ice. It is not an easy uphill climb, but the exhilaration you feel when the towers finally come into full view will be more than worth it. The majestic towers before us with the crystal-clear glacial lake visible below, there’s no better spot in the world to have lunch. Indulge in the breathtaking panorama (and your picnic!) before turning around to retrace your steps across Ascencio Valley. After a long day of work, we'll head back to Camp Torre Central for a delicious meal. |

With the early morning sun at our backs, and the beauty of Chile spread before us, we sit back and surrender to the awe-inspiring sights passing us by. - The start and finish point is Puerto Natales. Pickup from Punta Arenas and El Calafate can be arranged with scheduled bus transfers (subject to availabllity). Private transfers can also be arranged on request at an additional cost.
- Major commercial flight provide convenient access to Puerto Natales. Teniente Julio Gallardo Airport (PNT) is an airport serving Punta Arenas.
- Pickup and drop off in Punta Arenas hotels, Punta Arenas airport (PUQ), Puerto Natales or El Calafate is available. Pickup and drop off Skorpios, Navimag or Australis Cruise is also available. Please see "Transfer Information" section for more details.
The vast unbroken stretch of ocean to the west and south of the South American continent leaves the Patagonian Andes very exposed to the winds that circle the Antarctic landmass, making the weather hard to predict. Fine weather may deteriorate almost without warning; even in summer (December to March), you should come prepared to find strong cold winds (up to 130 km/hr) and rainfall. Summer’s average temperature is 11ºC (52ºF), ranging between 2 to 24ºC (35 to 75ºF).

- Morning pickup between 09:00am to 11:00am. Afternoon pickup between 12:30pm to 01:00pm. The exact time will be confirmed with the hotel the night before. Lunch will be provided. You will arrive at the Night 1 Eco Campsite at 05:30pm.
- Afternoon pick up between 1230pm-01:00pm. Lunch will be provided. You will arrive at the Night 1 Eco Campsite at 08:00pm.
Punta Arenas Airport (PUQ):
- Morning pickup at 11:30am and you need to arrive at airport PUQ by 11:00. Lunch will be provided. You will arrive at the Night 1 Eco Campsite at 05:30pm.
- Afternoon pickup at 03:30pm and you need to arrive at airport PUQ by 03:00pm. You will arrive at the Night 1 Eco Campsite at 08:00pm.
Puerto Natales Hotel:
- Morning pickup at 12:30pm. The exact time will be confirmed with the hotel the night before. Lunch will be provided. You will arrive at the Night 1 Eco Campsite at 17:30pm.
- Afternoon pickup is only for morning regular transfer. You will arrive at the Night 1 Eco Campsite at 08:00pm.
Puerto Natales Airport (PNT):
- Morning pickup at 3:00pm and you need to arrive at airport PNT by 02:40pm. Lunch will be provided. You will arrive at the Night 1 Eco Campsite at 05:30pm.
- Afternoon pickup at 04:51pm and you need to arrive at airport PNT by 04:30pm. You will arrive at the Night 1 Eco Campsite at 08:00pm.
Skorpios Cruises: Pickup from Puerto Natales Dock from 9:00am. Lunch is provided. You will arrive at the Night 1 Eco Campsite at 0530pm.
Navimag: Pickup from Puerto Natales Dock from 04:00pm Lunch will be provided. You will arrive at the Night 1 Eco Campsite at 08:30pm.
Australis: Pick up from dock between 11:30am-12:30pm with stop over at Punta Arean Airport. Lunch will be provided. You will arrive at the Night 1 Eco Campsite at 08:30pm.
El Calafate Hotel:

El Calafate Hotel/Airport:
- For the guests who wish to be transferred to El Calafate, the shared bus/van transfer departs the Torres del Paine EcoCamp between 05:30am-6:00am. You will be dropped off at El Calafate bus terminal then private van to your El Calafate Hotel between 02:00pm to 02:30pm. For El Calafate Airport drop off, arrival time is between 02:30pm-02:55pm
- Please note: During September, October & April departure is between 09:00am-09:30am with arrival to El Calafate Airport or hotel between 02:30pm-02:55pm. November to March departure is between 07:00am-07:30am with arrival to El Calafate Airport or hotel between 12:30pm-12:55pm. Transfer is by a semi-private transfer. It will be a direct journey from EcoCamp to El Calafate Hotel with a van change in Cancha Carrera (border).
- An additional charge applies for any drop off to El Calafate Airport.
- Regular Transfers (bus and van) to/from El Calafate are included only for reservations that start after September 8th, 2023.
The transfer is group scheduled transfer in minivans that normally seat from 8 to 14 people. All transfers must be arranged at least one month prior to the departure. Availability is limited, so we highly recommend to book in advance. In the event of a late or delayed arrival at Punta Arenas Airport (PUQ) or Puerto Natales Airport (PNT), a private transfer will need to be arranged at an extra cost.
Tents & campsites (nights 1-8)
Typical mountain tents are used with enough room for 2 people overnight in comfortable conditions. We provide all the camping gear. But you should bring your own mat and sleeping bag. Our team will set up the tents in the camping site. On nights 4, 5, 6, 7 & 8 at Grey, Pehoe, Francés and Las Torres you enjoy dinner and breakfast in the refugios. On nights 1, 2 and 3 at Serón, Dickson and Perros there will be a comfortable dining tent for dinners and breakfasts. Additionally, the camping sites along the trek will have mountain bathroom facilities in good condition.
EcoCamp Patagonia
Ecocamp Patagonia is located in the heart of Torres del Paine National Park in Chile, with a unique view of the majestic granite towers. The world's geodesic dome hotel, EcoCamp offers upscale camping in sustainable accommodation inspired by the region’s ancient nomadic inhabitants.
Dome Types:
- EcoCamp Patagonia Suite Dome: Heating & Private bathroom, 28m²/300ft². Suite domes were designed to further our goal of providing comfort in a natural setting with minimal environmental impact, and also maintain the hotel’s familiar and cozy vibe. The domes have comfortable double or twin beds, a wood stove and a private bathroom with a state-of-the-art composting toilet.
- EcoCamp Patagonia Suite Dome Loft: 2 floors, Heating & Private bathroom, 37m²/398ft². Suite dome lofts are two-storey domes which fit up to four people and have comfortable double or twin beds both up and downstairs. These domes, ideal for families or groups of friends, come with a wood stove, a private terrace and a private bathroom with a state-of-the-art composting toilet.
- EcoCamp Patagonia Superior Dome: Heating & Private bathroom, 23m²/250ft². Spacious, comfortable and equipped with private bathrooms, Superior Domes are the optimum choice for trekkers wanting that bit more space and comfort at the end of a long day’s walk. Each Superior Dome has comfortable queen-size or twin beds, a propane heater, skylight windows and a private bathroom with a sophisticated composting toilet
- EcoCamp Patagonia Standard Dome: Shared bathroom, 10m²/108ft². EcoCamp Standard domes were the world's first lodge accommodation in geodesic shape. They are resistant to the strong Patagonian winds, and come equipped with two single beds (doubles on request), cozy fleece blankets and feather quilts. There are windows in the ceiling for stargazing. Standard domes include shared bathrooms which are large, comfortable and gender divided.
Physical Demand
This is the right trip for energetic people who like to be active, have a spirit of adventure, and have a positive attitude. During this trek, you will walk a total of 134 km/83 mi.
To enjoy this trek, you must be in shape before you arrive. It is not wise to regard this trek as a means of getting into shape or losing excess weight. Start a program of conditioning well before departure.
Group Size & Guiding Staff

Children
- Those 15 years of age or older are considered adults and are welcome.
- Children aged between 12 and 14 might be accepted into this program if their legal guardian sends a formal letter stating that their child is prepared for such an intense trekking trip and authorizes the hiring of a private guide in case the child does not perform well during the trek.
- Children under 12 years of age cannot participate in this trip.
- This trip does not offer a special discount for children.
Porter Service and Luggage Handling
The porter service for this trip is included in the trip’s price. During the trek, your belongings will be divided into three portions. One portion you will carry yourself in your daypack comprising of your lunch, water, camera, sun cream and the clothing you will layer on and off during the day. The second portion is your sleeping bag and sleeping pad (you need to bring these with you to Torres del Paine) which will be carried for you throughout the trip. The third portion is the change of clean clothes and other items you will need at night in the campsites - these will be carried for you in waterproof duffel bags as follows:
On day 1 we will provide you with two small 15-liter duffel bags and in the first bag, you will put clothes needed for the following nights: 2 (Dickson), 3 (Los Perros), 4 (Grey) and 5 (Pehoe). Upon arrival at Pehoe, you will be given a second bag in which you can put clothes and any items needed for night 5 (Pehoe) and day 6 (Cuernos), before returning to Camp Torre Central on day 7 where the rest of your luggage will be waiting for you. You are allowed to pack up to 5 kgs (11 lbs) in each duffel bag.

The weather in Patagonia can make planning difficult at times. We reserve the right to change the order of the days in any itinerary at the discretion of the trip guide. The trip guide can modify, change, or eliminate part of the itinerary based on safety/weather considerations.

Payment Detail
All pricing is in Australian dollars and are quoted on a per person twin share basis. A supplementary price is available (see below). Bookings are not confirmed until full payment and the signed Booking Form has been received by Onlyluxe Travel.
A non-refundable 30% deposit is payable within 7 days of your booking, with the final balance due 120 days prior to departure. If a booking is made 120 days or less before departure, the full payment is payable immediately. Last minute bookings are payable before arrival. Failure to pay on time may result in automatic cancellation of a booking with cancellation penalties payable to Onlyluxe Travel. If you pay by credit card or PayPal a surcharge will be added to the total price.
Single Supplement
All accommodation is twin share. Single guests will share with someone of the same gender. If a single room is demanded, a supplementary price of will apply. The supplementary price refers to our quotation and needs to be stipulated at the time of booking.
General Cancellation Policies
- Outside of 120 days monies will be refunded less 30% of full fee
- Within 120 days prior to arrival all monies will be forfeited
- No refunds will be given in the event of non-arrival, any unused services or unused nights due to flight or weather disruption
- We strongly recommend guests protect themselves with travel insurance and medical insurance
Please Note: Cancellations must be advised in email and will take effect from the date they are received.
Liability
The participant agrees to indemnify Onlyluxe Travel, and its servant, tour operator and agents, in relation to any liability, loss and damage which the tour operator, or its servants and/or agents may incur as a result of the participants, negligence or misconduct during the tour.
Smoking is not permitted on the bus, or in tents or in other accommodation being used by tour operator at the time that a trip is being conducted.

Changes to Itineraries
Local conditions may necessitate changes to sightseeing, walking and driving routes, camping and accommodation locations. While every effort will be made to provide the services and experiences as offered in our brochure, on our website, and in our trip letters, we reserve the right to vary your itinerary. In the event that we are forced to change your arrangements, substitute arrangements of a similar standard will be provided. The tour operator will not be liable where interruptions to itineraries are caused by weather conditions, technical problems to transport used by the tour operator, industrial action, political or civil commotion or other circumstances beyond our control. We refer you to the conditions regarding travel insurance.
Changes in Prices
While we will do its utmost to honour its pricing unforeseen circumstances may mean that prices may be subject to change without notice.
Pre-Existing Medical Conditions and Age Limits
You need to advise Onlyluxe travel and the tour operator on any pre-existing medical condition, mobility impairment and/or disability that might reasonably be expected to increase the risk of your requiring medical attention, or that might affect the normal conduct of a trip and the enjoyment of other trip members. Onlyluxe Travel and the tour operator may require an assessment of your medical condition from a qualified medical practitioner. If you fail to adequately notify the tour operator of any pre-existing medical conditions and/or disability, the tour operator reserves the right, at its reasonable discretion, to cancel your participation in a trip at any time, including after the commencement of your trip, with no right of refund if your medical condition, mobility impairment and/or disability could be reasonably expected to affect the normal conduct of the trip and the enjoyment of other trip members.
Cancellation by The Tour Operator
The tour operator is at the mercy of nature in all her beauty and all her fury. The tour operator will under no circumstance knowingly place at risk the health and well-being of our guests and guides. In the case of natural threats, acts of God and the like (e.g. bushfires, impassable snow, etc) the tour operator may need to cancel a tour with very little notice. In some cases, this can occur after the tour has commenced. The tour operator reserves the right to cancel any tour up to 60 days prior to departure if the minimum number requirement is unable to meet for a tour. If the tour operator needs to cancel for any reason, the cost of the tour or any other costs associated with travel to the designated pick up point, overnight accommodation, meals, etc will not be covered by the Onlyluxe Travel and therefore we strongly recommend travel insurance be taken out prior to travel.
Force Majeure
'Force Majeure' means (without restriction) any event which Onlyluxe Travel or its third party providers could not, even with due care, foresee or avoid. Force Majeure covers events such as, but not limited to, adverse weather conditions, fire and all similar events beyond our control. In the case of Force Majeure Onlyluxe Travel will not accept liability, and reserves the right to change and cancel trips.
Evacuations
In rare circumstances, due to injury or unforeseen illness, the tour operator may need to evacuate you from a remote part of the walk. Helicopter evacuations are expensive and in most cases will be at a cost to the customer.
In the genuine spirit of expedition travel, we encourage exploration and adventure offering flexibility in challenging environments. This itinerary is only a guide and is subject to change due to weather, sea and other conditions beyond our control.
For Australian residents, under the Australian Government Medicare Act, it is prohibited for any domestic travel insurance product to provide any financial reimbursement with regard to ambulance or air ambulance services. We therefore strongly advise our customers to take specific ambulance cover through their health insurance provider. Evacuation cost will not be covered by the Onlyluxe Travel and therefore it is also strongly recommended that our customers take out travel insurance to cover (amongst other things) the costs associated with evacuation.
Travel Insurance
In view of the heavy cancellation penalties applied to cancelled reservations in certain circumstances, we strongly recommends suitable travel insurance be purchased at the time the holding deposit is paid. We recommend insurance cover that covers any loss which may be suffered due to cancellation. We also strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance against loss of baggage and medical expenses.
